During the 54th World Health Assembly in 2002, it was decided that World Health Day would be given the theme of physical activity promotion! Thereafter, "Agita Mundo" was born thanks to inspiration from Agita São Paulo. This program is fully endorsed and adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a permanent event designed for the globe to learn, share and embrace the overwhelming health benefits that regular physical activity participation has to offer to the human mind, body and soul.
Moving forward, April 6 will continue to be World Day of Physical Activity and it’s up to us as individuals, groups, organizations, societies and populations to promote, embrace and take part in this very meaningful day!
Here are a few ways to celebrate this AWESOME initiative:
Important Note: It takes many small steps to climb a mountain! So no matter how large or how small your contribution is to this amazing day it counts and will have a meaningful impact on those around you.
