Halloween is always a spooktacular time for kids to dress up as their favorite character. Each year, I look forward to seeing my little cousins completely transform into their favorite animal, superhero, or villain before heading out door-to-door in search of treats.
Halloween can be an opportunity to help your child develop healthy eating habits that carry them throughout the year. This year, I will do my part by starting a new trend in my neighbourhood. I will hand out different types of ghoulish give outs for trick-or-treaters that encourage fun beyond sugary treats.
You can visit the dollar or party stores to get these frightfully-fun and inexpensive ghostly giveaways:
- Glow stick bracelets or necklaces: Kids can use these right away to keep them visible while walking through the streets at night. Glow sticks last only for a day, leaving no extra clutter in the home after Hallowe’en.
- Bubbles, bouncy balls, and yo-yos: These toys will keep your little witches and mummies entertained and active even after Hallowe’en.
- Pens, pencils, or erasers: Pumpkin, spider, mummy, and bat-themed stationary are some practical favours that kids love.
- Temporary tattoos, stickers, or puzzle games: These items are always a hit with kids. They can share and trade these amusing favors.
Can you think of other ghoulish giveaways to add to my list?
