Take 5 Minutes to Reflect Before the New Year

December 30, 2015 by HealthyFamilies BC

New Year's resolutions and reflection

As we reflect on another year past, most of us begin to focus on changes we can make for a healthier year ahead. The first thing that comes to mind is New Year’s resolutions. Whether you are looking to improve your diet, increase your physical activity, or join a new sport, start small. New Year’s resolutions shouldn’t be stressful. Instead, make realistic, achievable goals. Read more about goal setting.

Also use this time of reflection to think about all that was accomplished over the year. What did you achieve?

At HealthyFamilies BC, we covered a lot of health topics: from learning how to look for healthier packaged food options, save money and waste less produce and raise healthy eaters, to getting outside to be active (whether mountain biking or hiking), and learning the myths and facts when it comes to fitness. But overall, here were your top 5 favourite blogs of 2015:

  1. Avoid the Sitting Disease in 4 Easy Steps
  2. Got a Minute? Make a Muffin!
  3. Why Kids Should Try Many Different Sports
  4. What to Sip and Which to Skip
  5. Brain Boosting Snack Ideas for Work

Now we need you to help us, help you! We want you to meet your goals for 2016 and stay informed on trending health topics that interest you. Which is why it’s so important for us to continue to provide both relevant and applicable information you can fit into your daily life.
