Setting up an account

How do I sign up?

You can create an account by clicking on the “Sign Up” button at the top right hand corner of the site and be taken to the registration form.  

What should my Username be?

Your Username should be something unique that you use as your alias within the website. Never use your email address or actual full name as your Username. Keep your online identity anonymous!  

What should my Password be?

Your Password should be something that you will remember easily but should also be secure.

Password Tips:

  • Use a different password than you use for other sites or services.
  • Make sure your password is long and strong: use a combination of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks at least six characters in length.

What is a CAPTCHA?

The CAPTCHA is a way to stop spam from abusing our registration form. For more information on CAPTCHA, please click here.

How do I use the CAPTCHA if I am visually impaired?

Visually impaired users can click the audio button to hear a set of words that can be entered instead of the visual challenge.

I have gone through all these steps and it still won't accept my info. What should I do?

Refresh the page and enter your info again. If you are still having difficulty setting up your account please contact us at healthyfamiliesbc@gov.bc.ca

Why do I get a confirmation Email?

We send you a confirmation email as a receipt of your account with us.


Managing your account

How do I manage my account?

You can manage your account by clicking on the “MY Account” button at the top right hand corner of the site and be taken to the edit your account form.

What if I forgot or need to change my Password?

Not to worry! There are two ways you can change your password, go to the Community Registration Page and click the option to reset your password or if you are already logged in, click on "My Account" on the top right corner of the Healthy Families BC Community Page. In here you will see an option to reset your password.

How do I change my username?

Unfortunately you can't change your username through your account. You will have to email Healthy Families BC, healthyfamiliesbc@gov.bc.ca, to delete your account. Once the account has been deleted, you will need to re-register using a different username. Note: all comments made on the blog with your existing username will be deleted.

I put in my Username and Password and I'm still not able to log-in. HELP!

Refresh the page and enter your info again. If you are still having difficulty setting up your account, please contact us at healthyfamiliesbc@gov.bc.ca.

Using your account

How do I comment on a blog?

To comment on a blog you must first login. You can find the login option on the top right corner of the Healthy Families BC Community Page. Once you are logged in, you can type your comments in the 'Leave a Reply' box at the bottom of the page. If there are a lot of comments, you'll need to scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN to find it, but your comments are worth the extra scrolling!

I submitted a comment and it didn't show up!

This could mean 1 of 2 things:

  1. You entered in content that did not follow the Blog Terms of Use; or 
  2. We are experiencing technical difficulties and are most likely working on the problem.

Deleting your account

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, you will need to send an email to HealthyFamilies BC, healthyfamiliesbc@gov.bc.ca.
