If you've noticed two of my last three blogs have focused on an amazing event (Sports Day in Canada, September 29th) and a week of corresponding events (Community Engagement Week & Try it Days, September 22-29th) all with the same overarching goal:
“To bring Canadians together to celebrate the power of sport to build community, promote healthy and active living and to fortify our national spirit as Canadians! “I remind you to GET INVOLVED with Sports Day in Canada and Try it Days to set an example for your community and family members. Make a Difference.... Be the Difference!
In addition and more important to this specific blog post, I want to let everyone know about another, yes another, awesome event that gives individuals an exciting way to publicly showcase their favorite sport and or sports club/team. YES, that’s correct... National Jersey Day is almost here!
Hosted by Sports Day in Canada, National Jersey Day takes place on September 28th 2012. More specifically, it’s a day to show our love and support for sport by wearing a jersey, team or club uniform to work, school and or play. From the far east coast in Newfoundland to the Sunshine Coast in BC, executives, teachers, council chamber members, doctors, nurses and our municipal workers will be throwing on their favorite jersey or uniform to promote the overwhelming benefits that sport provides to this amazing nation which we’re all lucky to call home.
